“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

I was born and raised in Alabama, the sixth of seven children in a home filled with love but lacking in material wealth.

My parents were hardworking, faithful people who did their best with what they had, but there were nights when we went to bed hungry, nights when the weight of life’s struggles pressed hard against our small home. I remember lying awake, listening to my mother pray—pouring her heart out to God, asking Him to make a way where there seemed to be none.

I didn’t always understand why life was so difficult, but one thing my parents taught me was that God is faithful. No matter how dark the night, morning always comes.

The Calling That Seemed Impossible

God placed a calling on my life early. I knew I was meant to serve Him, but the road to ministry seemed impossible. College required money we didn’t have. The responsibilities of family weighed heavy. There were moments of doubt—nights when I wrestled with fear, questioning if I had misunderstood God’s voice.

Maybe you know that kind of night.
The night when the bills pile up, and the paycheck isn’t enough.
The night when you pray for healing, but the pain doesn’t go away.
The night when you feel abandoned, betrayed, or overwhelmed by grief.

Weeping may endure for a night. But joy comes in the morning.

Through every struggle, God made a way. He opened doors I could have never opened on my own. He sent people to help me when I had nothing to give in return. He provided opportunities I never expected. And He strengthened me in the waiting.

God Has a Plan for You Too

I don’t know what you’re facing today, but I do know this: the night doesn’t last forever. The enemy wants you to believe that your struggles are permanent, that the pain will never end. But that’s a lie.

God sees you. He hears your cries. And He is working even in the darkness.

Whatever you’re going through, hold on. Hold on to His promises. Hold on to faith. Hold on until morning. Because joy is coming. Breakthrough is coming. Peace is coming.

Just as God carried me through the nights of uncertainty, He will carry you. The sun will rise, and when it does, you’ll see what He was doing all along.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me in the night. Thank You for the promise that morning is coming. Help me to trust You in the waiting. Strengthen my heart and remind me that You are always working for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you need prayer or encouragement, reach out. You’re not alone.
