“And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13
When I was a boy, my grandmother taught me how to make cake from scratch. She never measured a thing—just a pinch of this, a scoop of that. But somehow, every time, it came out perfect.
One day, I decided to make the cake myself. I carefully followed everything she had shown me, making sure to get each ingredient just right. But when I proudly brought my finished cake to her, she took one bite, smiled, and said, “It’s good, baby, but it’s missing something.”
I went back over everything in my head—flour, sugar, eggs, butter. What was I missing? Then she told me, “You followed the recipe, but you didn’t put your heart into it. That’s what makes it special.”
I didn’t understand at the time, but I do now.
What’s Missing in Your Life?
There are moments in life when we feel like we’re doing everything right—we’re working hard, following the steps, trying to put things together—but something still feels off. Maybe you’ve reached a point where success feels empty. Maybe you have everything you thought you wanted, but there’s still a gap in your heart.
That missing ingredient? It’s love.
Not just any love, but God’s love. The kind of love that fills every empty space, that heals wounds we don’t even know we have. It’s the love that gives life its true meaning. Without it, everything we build, everything we accomplish—it’s incomplete.
The Greatest Gift
1 Corinthians 13 tells us that love is the most important thing. It’s greater than knowledge, greater than wealth, greater than even the strongest faith. Without love, everything else loses its purpose.
God’s love is the missing piece in every broken heart, every weary soul, every searching life. It is the secret ingredient that changes everything.
If you’re feeling like something is missing today, stop searching for what you don’t have and start receiving what God has already given—His love. It’s available, it’s free, and it’s all you truly need.
